Drafting and planning

My double page spread didnt need much improving however i have proof read and changed some mistakes such as calling LA a country so this was changed to America.

drafting and planning

Here is my new contents page, with the corrected coverlines as i have made improvement from the front page. I have changed the colour for the font of 'Features'. This was because i found that white stood out more, whereas the black font on a purple background was quite dull and didnt stand out.
I have also added another image below the 'Ella Eyre' title, this is because this is who Ella Eyre is, also this was added as i found it more effective with more than one image on the contents page and also because the magazine in which i was influenced by, i didnt want to do everything they done, i wanted mine to be slightly original and unique

However this is my old contents page which has no title in the the centre of the page, i chose to put the title in the centre page as this features my double page spread, and makes it the main focus compared to the rest of the listed pages.

Drafting and planning

This is my new and improved front page. I have made my masthead much bigger, to allow it to stand out to the audience alot more and also to make the brand 'TUNEZ' get to be more recognizable.
I have also change some of the cover lines. For example the 'Drakes broken record' This was changed due to the past cover line being quite basic and it never stated enough information. Another coverline i have changed is the 'summer album'. Before it was just 'summer vibez'. This makes it easier for the customer to know what the coverline is all about just by the two words.

However here is my old front page before the improvements. This shows some of the generic conventions in which i kept the same. For example the wireless festival was kept the same, but changed the spelling. This was because i thought this coverline fitted well with my magazine. Also i kept the America is winning coverline because i thought it was different and makes the reader wonder what it is about,

Target Audience

I attracted my target audience by using darkish colours on my front page. The colours are bright as there are dark colours blended with light colours such as white. This will make my magazine visible to young people and stand out to them compared to other magazines. I also helped attract my audience by using my image in the centre of the front cover and I deliberately made the artist give the audience direct eye contact to engage better with the customers browsing in the shops. My masthead was clear and bold against the purple background, I also used capital letters for this to make it the main focus of all the other text within the front cover. I addressed the audience with the choice of language I used, the main cover line of ‘reveals all’ this is very short and gives no details about what the topic is, this can make the customer want to read it more as its unknown.

This is a short analysis of a zoomed in image of the top of the from page taken from Vibe Magazine. This was done to analyse closely into codes and conventions and look at the artists body language.

Research into similar products

i decided to analyse another magazine featuring a major artist. This was done to help develop my understanding of codes and conventions within music magazines further. This magazine was chosen purposely as this is the branded magazine, my magazine was influenced by.
